Description
WW2 British Army 15/19th Hussars Picture Photo Photograph Ration Card Grouping. Lot of photos of 549858 Trooper C. Harrison and what I presume to be his family. Based on some limited research, I found that he started serving with the 15/19th Hussars as a “Boy” in 1930, earning an India General Service Medal with the Northwest Frontier 1930-1931 Clasp. He continued to serve with the unit until at least 1953 (date on the original ration sheet included in this lot). I also found he was awarded a Long Service & Good Conduct medal with the 15/19th Hussars in 1949. Assuming he served with the unit throughout this period, he would has served with the BEF in France in 1940 and evacuated at Dunkirk. He would have returned to France in 1944 after D-Day and appears to have served with the occupation forces, as the photograph with his wife (a German?) was taken in Lübeck, Germany. Interesting lot worthy of more research. All items, with exception to the copies of the medal rolls, are included. Buyer is welcome to save copies of the medal rolls digitally. See pictures for exact condition. I will combine shipping on multiple purchases and provide a refund for the difference.Sales in the United States only!
