    Description

For your consideration, we are offering for sale this Restored 1940 Parker Vacumatic Double Jewel Azure Pearl Celluloid Fountain Pen in the Major Size. This fountain pen has been thoroughly taken apart, cleaned, and put back together and now is in wonderful writing condition.
I have ultrasonically cleaned the NIB, feed, section, breather tube, and barrel. Replaced the old diaphragm with a new, properly sized one. Hand polished the Gold Filled Blue Diamond Clip, Chevron Cap Band, bottom jewel tassel, and 14K Parker NIB. Additionally, I cleaned, buffed, and polished the barrel, cap, and blind cap to bring back the vibrancy of the fountain pen.
This fountain pen cap and barrel are in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs with the cap always securing tightly to the barrel. The color is a blue/azure pearl that really displays vibrantly. This cap displays the Split Arrow Gold Filled Blue Diamond Clip and Chevron Cap Banding, which displays no brassing. The top and bottom jewels are black and have been polished to bring back a beautiful shine. The barrel is clearly and crisply stamped with, "Geo. S. Parker Parker Vacumatic Made in U.S.A. with date code 0 for 1940 in the 3rd quarter". The transparency of the barrel is near water clear with very minor ambering barrel. The blind cap securely fits.
This 2nd Generation (1939-1941) Parker Vacumatic has the correct Speedline Filling Unit. This Speedline Filler still retaining the lettering which is very uncommon to find. The Vacumatic Speedline Filling System works great, typically in my tests with water about 7-10 presses to roughly fill full. This Parker Vacumatic is a major size, which measures 5 1/8" in length capped and 6 1/8" posted.
The Parker NIB is a 14K gold Split Arrow NIB that writes smoothly. The iridium on this Nib is great and creates a very smooth writing experience, can't emphasize this enough. The actual writing portion/tip of this 14K Parker NIB has a medium point measuring roughly .73mm when measured with digital calipers. When creating the writing sample, this Parker NIB writes with a medium to broad/double broad line. The writing sample provided in the listing image ranges from .68mm to 1.20mm when measured with digital calipers with normal to firm pressure. The sample was done with the actual pen in the images that are listed for sale. The writing sample was used by dipping the NIB in Parker Quink Blue-Black Ink.
This is a very desirable vintage Parker Vacumatic Double Jewel Fountain Pen in the Azure Pearl Celluloid that is in Excellent Condition. It is a hard Parker Vacumatic to find in the Double Jewel Major size due to the color and a manufacturing run of 18 months that started in mid-1940 - compared to 4+ years for the other colors. This Parker is ready to write or add to your writing arsenal collection.

    Please Read Carefully Before Bidding:
I strive to find unique and difficult to find pieces that I believe will capture the attention of collectors. I spend a great deal of time traveling, talking with people, sitting at auctions and waiting in line at estate sales to find these pieces. Some of the items are "farm fresh" and some I have had in my possession for years and time to let others enjoy. Please make sure this item is what you want before bidding. If you would like different pictures or have concerns on damage, on whether it is repainted or repaired ask before bidding. If I can find out, I will. These are antiques so expect them not to be "perfect".
