    TYPE 2A 1917 - 1924,
    GIRL SCOUT MEMBERSHIP PIN
    In 1917, the “Type 2” membership pin design was offered.  The most important change was the addition of the G.S. at the top of the trefoil which remains there even today.  This TYPE 2A is SO MUCH LIKE THE FIRST MEMBERSHIP PIN THAT I WOULD BE TEMPTED TO LOBBY FOR THIS BEING PART OF
    TYPE 1
    instead of Type 2.  I'm SURE the addition of the "G.S." was considered significant enough to create a new "type."
    Here are the similarities to the Type 1B (without the G.S.):

    Bullet Clasp
    If it has to be Type 2, and glad that it is

    as I'm sure it was the first run with the GS included.  I have not cleaned this, and it doesn't seem to need it.  Bullet clasp works as good as ever, however, it certainly is not the safest of the various clasps.
